BloodRoot Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley, California

BloodRoot is a secret collaboration between acclaimed winemakers. This group has deep contacts and vineyard sourcing which they knew they would create great wines for relatively modest prices. They're the chefs that could walk into your house tonight and make a Michelin-starred meal out of anything you have in your fridge and pantry. They want to be anonymous because they have other projects where their wines sell for 4-5x as much money with scores from critics in the 95-100 point range.

A fantastic Cabernet discovery from BloodRoot. Highly recommended.

BloodRoot Pinot Noir
Sonoma County, California

Inaugural release! Utilizing different fruit sources mostly throughout Sonoma County (but also neighboring counties of Marin and Mendocino), the BloodRoot winemakers created a Pinot Noir blend that effortlessly melds cool, coastal Pinot elegance with the velvety polish of culty high-end Pinot producers.

93 Points Wine Enthusiast: "This wine is a secret collaboration between several wine
makers with great vineyard sourcing who have come together here to make a masterful, value-minded blend. The majority of the grapes come from Russian River Valley, with others from Sonoma Coast, Marin, Anderson Valley and Bennett Valley. Tea, earth, stone and herb tones enliven a core of cranberry and rhubarb, offering length and depth. The tannins are velvety smooth and seductive."

Fountain of Youth Sauvignon Blanc
Elgin, South Africa

In 1898 Sir Antonie Viljoen, a medical doctor and graduate of Edinburgh University, bought Oak Valley. He was responsible for establishing the first commercial apple orchards in the area and also became a senator in the Cape parliament. He was knighted by King George in 1916 for his efforts to reconcile the Boers and Brits in the bitter aftermath of the Boer War.

At the time he bought the land, plans were underway to build a pioneering railway from Sir Lowry’s Pass to Caledon. Elgin existed in isolation until the track opened in 1902. The line was chiseled through solid rock to cross Sir Lowry’s Pass – the steepest gradient in the country. This inspired an era of prosperity in Elgin, now renowned for its fruit, greenhouse cut flowers, beef cattle and, increasingly, for its high quality cool climate wines. With vineyards up to 500m above sea level, the higher altitude and colder winters make Elgin the coolest wine region in South Africa. The estate, set on 1786 hectares of land in the Elgin Valley, is now owned and run by the Rawbone-Viljoen family.

Along the lower foothills of the Groenlandberg Mountain, Sir Antonie discovered a crystal clear fresh water spring. So good was this water that he had it piped over many miles to his home and proclaimed it the Fountain of Youth.

With the cool climate of Elgin resulting in a delayed ripening time, grapes for the the Discovery Fountain of Youth Sauvignon Blanc are harvested from vines planted in Bokkeveld shale (medium-textured gravelly soil with a structured clay layer) in 2004 and 2007. Grapes are allowed to mature in the vineyard where other warmer regions do not have this luxury. Reductive winemaking with cool fermentation temperatures results in a wine bursting with fruit.
Each label is hand-drawn and has its own unique story, reflecting Oak Valley’s history.

Tasting notes: This Sauvignon Blanc expresses blackcurrant, gooseberry, papaya and characteristic Elgin flinty notes. Flavors of passionfruit persist on the palate, particularly granadilla and lemons. A lovely long saline finish, complemented with beautiful natural acidity is typical of the vintage.

Montemercurio Montepulciano

Color: Intense and deep ruby, almost impenetrable
Bouquet: aromas of ripe fruit, cassis and blackberries, enhanced with traces of tobacco, chocolate and sweet spices.
Flavor: High quality tannins, charged with elegance and body, which render the wine extremely adaptable to lengthy aging.

Producer’s notes:
In the early 60’s, in the heart of Montepulciano in the valley of the Temple of St. Biagio, thanks to “ Grandfather Damo”, this vineyard was established, which with infinite care, he maintained till 2006, the year in which he passed on. His dedication remains alive still, because we in the family decided to continue producing this unique wine, which is the essence of one of the oldest vineyards in the Vino Nobile of Montepulciano denominational region. “Damo”, the Nobile Di Montepulciano wine, represents the elite wine of our firm, which is the culmination of a rigorous procedure of selection and development. From the beginning it was obvious that this particular vineyard was capable of producing wines of the highest caliber, which could enhance greatly the value of this denominational region. “Damo” is our interpretation of a modern Nobile di Montepulciano wine, a wine of lengthy tradition which we claim as our own and which is unique only to itself. ‘Damo” wine is a wine which is nurtured carefully in every minute detail, nothing is left to chance either in the vineyard or in the cellars, because we believe that our grapes are worthy of this kind of attention so that we can give the consumer an emotional experience that evokes the beauty of our vines and the aromas of our particular soils. “Damo” is capable of aging for many years and still maintain its special qualities, whilst gracing the tables of our more discerning patrons around the world.

Montemercurio Tedicciolo

Color: Deep ruby
Aromas: fresh fruit, cherries and floral notes
Flavors: fresh, fruity with a soft and pleasing finish

Producer's notes:
The wine is produced from the Sangiovese grapes from our younger vineyards and is our daily table wine which marries the drinkability of Sangiovese wine, which is typical of the Montepulciano area, with the fruitiness of Merlot grapes, which have been introduced in small quantities in our production.

This is a wine which adapts itself to all manners of traditional culinary plates and can evolve, interestingly, by further careful cellaring in bottles.

Les Jamelles Merlot

A sure bet from the Les Jamelles range, this Merlot is a fruity, round, complex, elegant wine. It may be paired with all types of cuisines.

To obtain a wine with perfect balance that is typical of its varietal, the grapes are selected from five terroirs: the flatlands in the environs of Narbonne and the Aude River plain lend richness, length and structure; those along the coastal region near Béziers, opulence and freshness;
while the vines located on the slopes of the Orb Valley and the Herault’s Valley mid-slope vineyards contribute roundness, velvety tannins and freshness to the final blend.

Tasting notes:
Endowed with intense color, Les Jamelles Merlot is rich, long and round. It boasts flavors of ripe fruit (cherry, wild strawberry), as well as nuances of clafoutis and caramel.
Notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and even cherry tomato may also be detected. The tannins are silky and pleasing on the palate. This well-balanced, easy-drinking Merlot will be a unanimous favorite among your guests.

Les Jamelles Viognier

Viognier is one of the iconic white wines of the Les Jamelles range. With its fruity aromas and flavors along with its roundness and freshness, this Viognier holds plenty of nice surprises in store for your tasting experience

The grapes for this Viognier are sourced from several terroirs, the main ones being the Thau lagoon basin and the dried-up marsh of Marseillette. Overlying the former deltas of the Aude and Hérault rivers, the first terroir features calcareous clay soil with rounded river stones, while the second terroir is rather atypical with slightly salty, loamy clay soil that is leached several times a year.

Tasting notes:
Endowed with gorgeous pale gold color, Les Jamelles Viognier is rich and extremely fragrant, with notes of apricot and white peach, along with floral nuances (acacia blossom).

This wine is round on the palate, with remarkable freshness and exceptional balance between richness and acidity. The tasting experience concludes with nougat on the finish.

Precision Zinfandel
Alexander Valley, California

Single vineyard sourced. 90 Points, Wine Spectator.
“Smokin’ Alexander Valley Zin”

Proprietor and vintner Trevor Sheehan brings focus and passion to every wine. His long-standing relationships with top growers combine with meticulous winemaking practices bring stellar results.

And perhaps most notably the wines consistently over-deliver for their price, just like this Alexander Valley Zinfandel from the outstanding 2018 vintage. Sourced from a single grower whose grapes are much in demand, this wine shows the expressive character that Zinfandel takes on in the unique microclimate of the Alexander Valley.

Aged 13 months in 60% new oak, the Wine Spectator scored this 90 points saying "Bold with fruit but well-structured, offering briary black cherry, toasted sage and cracked pepper flavors that build tension toward broad-shouldered tannins."

It's a wine you can enjoy now and over the next 8-10 years. Best of all the price is no where near what you'd expect for a prime Alexander Valley Zin of this quality.

Forbidden as it was to brew in summer, a stronger beer – the Märzen – was brewed earlier in March. It would finally be served at the Oktoberfest, under the “Heaven of Bavaria”. They have returned once again to the age-old recipe and recreated that gloriously smooth, honey-colored piece of history from times gone by. And all is brewed with due reverence to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516.

4 NEW from Tequila ArteNOM

ArteNOM 1123 Historic Tequila

This unique Tequila is the latest installment in the wonderful ArteNOM line. Coming from the famous, historic, and family owned Cascahuin Distillery in El Arenal, Jalisco, you know it's good. This blanco actually spends 28 days resting in a barrel that previously held Don Amado Mezcal. It's technically still a blanco as it spends less than the 30 days required to label reposado. There is a hint of smoke and wildness that you don't normally find in the tequilas of Cascahuin. A beautiful addition to an already incredible lineup.

The Rosales family produces ArteNOM Blanco Histórico 1123 in El Arenal, Jalisco at their renowned Destilería Cascahuín from lower-brix valley agave that are the hallmark of the Lowland tequila style: earthy, vegetal, herbaceous, and slightly peppery. This selection is made from those valley plants which, once distilled into tequila, are barrel-conditioned for 21-28 days in brandy casks that previously held Oaxacan mezcal, such as high-end blanco tequilas from the Tequila Valley were sometimes prepared in the early 1900s. For this reason, this expression is referred to as a “Blanco Histórico.”

Tasting Notes:
Color: straw, autumn meadow
Nose: roasted pineapple, warm butter, baking spices, smoked pepper, cider
Palate: viscous hot cinnamon, black pepper, sweet potato, vanilla, licorice, almond, hardwood smoke

ArteNOM 1146 Anejo Tequila

This anejo selection is drawn from old French and American oak barrels to create a unique and unforgettable complexity. From Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca, known for his expertise in aging.

At Tequileña in the eponymous town of Tequila, Jalisco, home to a range of celebrated tequilas, Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca distills agave predominantly grown in and around his highland hometown of Atotonilco el Alto. For this añejo expression, Enrique ages select tequilas initially in used Cabernet Franc wine barrels from the Loire Valley of France for a minimum of 14 months. The tequila is then extracted from the French oak and laid into toasted American white oak previously used to age either Canadian whiskey or Tennessee rye whiskey, for a minimum of 14 additional months, for a truly masterful balance of oak and agave flavors.

Tasting Notes:
Color: rich amber
Nose: butterscotch, citrus, baking spices, vanilla
Palate: toffee, walnut candy, custard, orange zest, dark chocolate

ArteNOM 1414 Reposado Tequila

From the highlands Arandas, this tequila is a rich and well-balanced expression. Lime trees, orange groves, and other wild fruits surround this distillery and lend tropical fruit notes with sweet agave flavors to the tequila.

The Vivanco family began cultivating highland agave during Mexico’s tumultuous post-revolutionary period of 1919-1929. In Don Feliciano Vivanco’s hometown of Arandas, Jalisco, subsequent generations of Vivancos have remained devoted to expanding the family’s agave plantations, and in 1994, the family dream of acquiring their own distillery was finally realized with the purchase of Destilería El Ranchito. With approximately 2,000 acres of estate-grown agave at their disposal, Sergio & José Manuél Vivanco have become renowned for producing rich, well-balanced tequilas. For ArteNOM Selection de 1414, the family brings back their unique and extraordinary tradition of fermenting the agave mash with field-extracted wild yeast for an unparalleled display of agave terroir.

Tasting Notes:
Color: very pale straw
Nose: vegetal chaparral, roasted sweet potato
Palate: salted vanilla cookie, allspice, mild chile heat

ArteNOM 1579 Blanco Tequila

The mountain town of Jesús-María (elev. 6,079’) is tequila’s highest altitude agave region, and the El Pandillo Distillery is arguably one of the most forward-thinking and sustainable distilleries in the business. There, Felipe Camarena masterfully crafts this bright, aromatic tequila from stressed hillside agave plants, slowly roasted in brick ovens and macerated intact with fiber for a pronounced agave flavor.

At 6,788 feet above sea level in the remote mountain town of Jesús María, Felipe Camarena masterfully crafts this bright, aromatic Blanco Clásico tequila from stressed hillside agave plants grown in tequila’s highest-altitude agave region. Felipe’s Destilería El Pandillo is arguably one of the most forward-thinking, innovative and sustainable distilleries in the business. After select harvesting, the agave plants are slowly roasted in brick ovens and macerated intact with their fibers for a richer, fuller flavor. Following fermentation with rainwater, Felipe slowly distills this selection in small copper pot stills and aerates the spirit prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes:
