Camino Roca Altxerri Rosé
Bassque Country, Spain

Located around the small fishing towns of Getaria and Zarautz, on the coast of the Bay of Biscay in Northern Spain, the Getariako Txakolina DO was established in 1990, but the history of vine growing is a long one dating back to the Middle Ages. The pergola trained vines here are quite old (many 80+ years) with the roots reaching 10 meters below the surface. The area was not affected by Phylloxera due to the high rainfall which allowed water accumulation around roots, protecting them from the outbreak.

This beautiful rosé is made of 100% Hondurrabi Beltza

Harvested by hand. Vinification and elevage done strictly in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.

Tasting Notes: The gentle fizz (as is traditional for Txakoli) is just one of the many charming elements to Roca Altxerri. Bone dry with angular but balanced acidity with a plethora of fruit notes including raspberries and strawberries with an injection of lime zest. Break out the porrón!

Hess Select Rosé

Crafted by Hess winemakers best known for artistry with coastal vineyards, Hess Select wines are sourced from family-owned estate vineyards and from grower families throughout California who share the guiding principle that their founder Donald Hess instilled in the family business “nurture the land and return what you take.” "We strive to make the very best wines that elevate the everyday, and honor the courageous nature of the lion – the symbol of the Hess family."

Taste + Style
“We fermented our Hess Select Rosé in stainless steel, without oak influence, in order to accentuate the wine’s naturally crisp and expressive flavors. Bright and bursting with notes of red berries and stone fruit, this wine delivers a perfect element of acidity on its elegant finish. Balanced on the palate and easy to enjoy, our Rosé tastes best served among great friends and good food. Pair this versatile wine with your favorite sweet and salty combinations, like a proscuitto and melon salad, or simply enjoy it alongside fresh shellfish.” -Dave Guffy, Director of Winemaking

Dynamite Red Blend
Bordeaux Red Blend from California

Barriers don't stand in their way at Dynamite Vineyards. When their original mountain terrain was too rugged to plant a vineyard, they used dynamite to blast rows into the volcanic rock. Over 20 years later, Dynamite Vineyards wines are still inspired by their tenacious past. They go out of their way to find grapes that live up to their daring roots to create bold and expressive wines.

With its name inspired by the method that workers used to create the original vineyard site on the rocky slopes of the Sonoma Valley, Dynamite Vineyards captured the public’s imagination when its 1991 vintage was released. More importantly, with their full-flavored character, approachable style and unbeatable value, Dynamite Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were soon winning awards and fans.
As consumer demand grew for these impressive wines, Dynamite Vineyards gradually expanded its vineyard sources to include grapes grown throughout the North Coast (Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties), primarily in mountain vineyards. The colorful Dynamite Vineyards labels change each vintage while the wine maintains consistent quality and superb value.

The Red Blend is packed with jammy aromas and black fruit flavors, just like a red blend should be. Be bold, experience Dynamite.

Cap Corse Mattei Aperitif

~ A blanc quinquina is unique among aperitif wines
~ Minerality, acidity and floral tones balanced with quinine bitterness
~ The local Cedrat fruit adds unique citrus aroma
~ Producer Louis-Napoléon Mattei began in 1872; still family owned
~ Serve on ice with soda/tonic, or in cocktails with gin or agave spirit

In 1872, a merchant named Louis-Napoléon Mattei named his aperitif wine after his native Cap Corse, a peninsula of Corsica that juts northward into the Mediterranean. A territory of France, Corsica has over the centuries been influenced by both France and Italy, as well as northern Africa. Mattei discovered the beneficial properties of cinchona tree bark during a voyage to the Caribbean, and he brought it to Cap Corse to blend with local wine made from Muscat and Vermentinu grapes. He added spices that made their way through Cap Corse’s bustling port, as well as Cedrat (citron), a thick-peeled ancestor of lemon. Cap Corse Mattei Quinquina was soon exported across the globe.

A true Quinquina Blanc, and unique among aperitif wines. The profile of the Cap Corse Mattei BLANC aperitif wine is defined by its distinctly Corsican components. Its all-mistelle base is of Vermentinu and Muscat Petit Grains, lending a terrific minerality, acidity and floral tones. The local Cedrat (aka citron) adds unique citrus aroma and a silky texture. Since its creation in 1872 by Louis-Napoléon Mattei, Cap Corse Mattei is the oldest and best known aperitif of Corsica. Still today family owned, and all macerations, aging and bottling are done in house.
As a quinquina, Cap Corse Mattei BLANC is flavored with cinchona bark (quinine), which adds spice and depth in the mid and back palate. Fantastic on ice with tonic or soda, and even more so with a pour of gin or an agave spirit.

About Quinquina/Chinato
The beneficial properties of the cinchona tree were originally discovered by the Quechua, a people indigenous to Peru and Bolivia, who found it an effective muscle relaxant to calm shivering due to low temperatures. The Quechua would mix the ground bark of cinchona trees with sweetened water to offset the bark’s bitter taste, thus producing tonic water. Jesuit missionaries in the early 1600’s brought this back to Rome, where quinine in unextracted form came into use to treat malaria, which was was endemic to the swamps and marshes surrounding the city of Rome and responsible for the deaths of several popes, many cardinals and countless common Roman citizens. Quinine was isolated and named in 1820 by French researchers, the name being derived from the original Quechua (Inca) word for the cinchona tree bark, quina or quina-quina, which means “bark of bark” or “holy bark”. Large-scale use of quinine as a malaria preventative started around 1850, consumed in tonics or aperitif wines such as these. With other spices and wines selected to balance, many of these quinine aperitif wines became famous and sought out first as delicious and refreshing aperitif drinks.

Partner Sweet Vermouth

Partner Vermouth’s unique complexity comes from their winemaking teams’ knowledge of aromatic bitters and their ability to blend, taste and tweak over and over until it’s perfect. Enjoy Partner in your favorite cocktail, neat as an aperitif or digestive, over ice more recipes.

Partner Vermouth hearkens to an earlier America when alcohol and medicine were one and the same. Whiskey and vermouth cured all.

Vermouth is wine infused with botanicals. This marriage of flavors dates back to the origins of wine itself. The Caesars and Pharaohs of the ancient world had their own royal recipes, as well as the common folks on their farms…families throughout history added herbs and spices to their local wine, both for flavor and for health. Vermouth has always been considered medicinal as well as delicious, and we are continuing the tradition.

A blend of Merlot and Petite Sirah, heightened it with fresh Tartarian cherries from Lodi California, and exotic spices from around the world. Partner made grape spirit infusions of spices such as Smoked Black Cardamom, Star Anise, Indian Coriander, Chinchona bark, and Wormwood.

The Profile
Smokey and exotic on the nose, fruity on the palate, with a long finish that cleans up with the bitter herbs, Partner Vermouth works in a cocktail, on ice, or simply neat.
