Roses
Perfect for your Mother's Day Celebration...

Mas Carlot L'Irresistible Rosé
France

Since 1988, Nathalie Blanc-Marès has made Mas Carlot one of the most respected domaines of the appellation. Alongside husband Cyril, she farms 75 hectares in the red clay and limestone soils of the Southern Rhône. Rich in galets roulés, the rounded stones offer natural protection against temperature extremes. The presence of the Mistral creates an excellent microclimate for the vines in which they may retain their acidity and be free of pests and mildew.

This beautiful wine is made from 100% Grenache grapes from vines that were planted in 1958. This wine is full of elegance and finesse. The pale color, delicate fruit aromas, and a touch of spice make it irresistible!

Fore Family Grenache Blanc
Napa Valley, California

This Grenache Blanc has intense notes of honeymelon that are balanced out with searing acidity and minerality. We love this wine. 170 cases produced. What we love? Great acid and minerality, crisp and refreshing and interesting varietal.

Fore Family's Lake County Cobb Mountain vineyard is a true mountain top vineyard, surrounded by big timber, Ponderosa Pine, Firs and Black Oaks. The loose, rocky, red hills volcanic soil is extremely well drained and when you combine this terroir with Lake County's tremendous sun and Cobb Mountain’s cool evenings it gives them the perfect opportunity to produce premium wine grapes. Fore Family Vineyards has a goal of limiting production and continuing with their low yield program so that they can produce a high-quality wine for you to enjoy for years to come.

Girard Sauvignon Blanc
Napa Valley, California

A very clean, fresh and crisp Sauvignon Blanc. Aromatics lean towards bright citrus, lemon peel and tropical notes. On the palate the citrus notes define themselves as lime zest with a touch of grapefruit. Tropical notes help round out the palate with hints of mango. Bright acidity helps cleanse the palate.

Trucahrd Chardonnay
Napa Valley, California

Truchard Vineyards is a family operated winery that has been growing grapes in Napa Valley since 1973. Because of Truchard’s farming roots, their philosophy is to focus on the integrity of the fruit produced and to make wines varietally correct, with a sense of place. Their wines trade opulence for balance and elegance. This Chardonnay is not oaky and buttery, it is a cleaner style with bright acidity.

Tasting notes: A floral nose: tropical fruit, Meyer lemon, and pineapple; combined with fig, vanilla, and spice. The mouth is filled with intense flavors of wildflower honey, green apple, and fresh pear. Firm acidity provides a bright finish of citrus, mineral, and toasted oak.

Cuvee A Amrita from Anne Aime
Carlton, Oregon

The name Amrita comes from the Buddhist equivalent of ambrosia, or a wine of the gods. Amrita is an unique inspiration each harvest, crafted from different varieties to be an irresistible, lightly effervescent, fruit-forward wine.

Varietal Composition: Pinot Blanc 32.5%, Muller-Thurgau 19.7%, Riesling 17.7%, Viogner 14.9%, Chardonnay 12.5%, Gewurtztraminer 2.7%

Grapes were hand-picked by block, based on taste, with almost a month between the first and final pick. Grapes were brought directly to the winery in 1/2 ton totes in perfect condition. They were carefully sorted by hand; whole cluster pressed and placed into temperature controlled stainless steel fermenters. Each varietal was paired with a suitable yeast and slowly fermented at 45°F for maximum varietal character. The wine aged on its lees for four months before blending and bottling. CO2 was left in the wine for a slight effervescence. Extensive blending trials and tastings were conducted before choosing the final blend.

Aroma: quince, elderflower, starfruit, shortbread cookies, Ranier cherry, lemon drops
Flavor: white strawberry, kumquat, golden raspberry, elderflower liqueur, summertime
Finish: Spicy, off-dry, mineral.

Swanson Pinot Grigio
Napa Valley, California

The days when Napa Valley Pinot Grigio sat dutifully at the children's table, as the overblown Chardonnays of the world played with the big boys have come to an end.

Intuition and love of the grape prompted Clarke Swanson to plant this much-maligned grape on his Oakville estate some 20 years ago. The result, year after year, is a stunner: vibrant aromas, flavors of ripe peach and pear, and a clean goodbye kiss will leave you feeling strangely tingly, giggly even—and possessed by the perfectly outrageous notion of pairing it with caviar and potato chips (as we do in the Salon), the centerpiece of a picnic in bed or a sunny afternoon doing nothing at all.

The aromas of this wine are refreshing, showing pear, litchi and Meyer lemon. On the palate, peach, melon and a touch of guava are revealed. This blend shows considerable minerality and weight, and evokes perhaps more a ripe Alsatian Pinot Gris than an Italian Pinot Grigio. As always, this wine reflects the ripe, succulent Pinot Grigio grapes from which it originated.

Malvaria Arneis
Italy

Grape Variety: 100% Roero Arneis
Straw yellow in color with perfume of fresh fruit and citrus, this is a refreshing and savory wine.

When deciding on the design of their wine labels, they wanted to stay close to Roero tradition, using symbols found on tarot cards combined with the wheel, an important local symbol, that is similar to the Conti Roero family coat of arms. The symbol of Roero DOC wine label (an angel and a dragon bound to a wheel) also welcomes our visitors at the front gate of the winery.

Chateau Pilet Blanc
Bordeaux, France

This tiny estate 25 miles south east of Bordeaux has developed steadily over several generations, mainly through a constant dedication to quality.

Tasting notes: With its pale yellow robe, Chateau Pilet Blanc is a fruity and generous wine, displaying nice notes of citrus and exotic fruit on the nose and on the palate. An easy wine to drink in its youth, perfect spring and summer sipping.

Chateau Mayne Pargade Blanc
Bordeaux, France

Château Mayne Pargade produces both red and white wine. The vineyards are almost entirely in a single block on a hill whose highest point is 93 meters above sea level.

The 40 hectares of white wine grapes grow in predominately limestone soil. The grape varieties are evenly divided between Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. This produces a crisp wine with a powerful bouquet. Château Mayne Pargade is cold-fermented over a long period of time in order to obtain maximum aroma. This wine is rich with a slight floral scent and a lovely, fresh taste.

Sophora Cuvee
New Zealand

Winemaker's Notes: This Cuvée of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir has elegant aromas, is rich and full on the palate with a pleasant, lasting mousse. Sophora exhibits an array of ripe fruit flavors and vibrant citrus combined with delicate yeasty characters and a naturally balanced acidity to produce a luscious style of sparkling wine.

Wilfred Wong of Wine.com - "Have you ever enjoyed a gentle brut? The Sophora Sparkling Cuvee is such a wine. A bubbly, with fine appley aromas and flavors, dry, yet smooth and easy on the palate; Great for casual events, with appetizers and conversation. A serious effort that is perfect for everyone. (Tasted: April 6, 2015, San Francisco, CA)"

Bouvet Rose
Loire, France

Winemaker's Notes: Bouvet Rosé Brut exhibits a brilliant, delicate salmon-pink color punctuated by fine, pinpoint bubbles which suggest the wines fresh, raspberry and cassis fragrance. On the palate it is very dry and crisp, with plump, succulent red fruit flavors offset by subtle earthy notes and a lovely generosity on the clean, persistent finish. Made from 100% Cabbernet Franc grapes.

Critical Acclaim
Wine Spectator - "A charming sparkler, with strawberry, cherry and watermelon flavors, offering a fresh, lingering finish that shows a light bergamot note."

Wine & Spirits - "The sweetness of this wine's strawberry fruit is contrasted by a slightly savory, herbal, tomato-leaf character that adds a refreshing twist. "

Quinta de Saes Dao Red
Portugal

Alvaro Castro is a true original in the world of wine and his two estates (separate properties, but the same wines are bottled under both names) are among the leaders of this appellation set on a high plateau between mountain ranges. The Pellada estate dates back to the 16th century and wine was made there until 1945, when the family reverted to selling to the local co-op. Alvaro took control in 1989 and established the winery at Saes and has been building a reputation for both red and white wines of great complexity and aging potential ever since.

Beautifully rich and ripe with pure blackcurrant and blackberry fruit nose. The palate is fresh and pure with lovely sweet vivid dark fruits and a nice bitter tang on the finish. Deliciously full and pure, and a bargain. 90/100

Ciacci Piccolomini d' Aragona Toscana
Italy

85% Sangiovese Grosso, 15% blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. A fantastic value, the wine displays sweet cherry, red plum, flowers, leather and a hint of dusty earth. The French varietals add plushness to the palate that nicely round out the Sangiovese.

Viña Maquis Carmenere
Colchagua Valley, Chile

With an expressive nose containing hints of laurel, spicy clove and a pleasant note of rosemary, this wine also exudes a layer of deep red fruits. On the palate, it’s fresh, with sweet tannins and a full-bodied flavor that ends in a lovely, lingering finish.

The Hurtado family has owned the Viña Maquis vineyard for more than a century, but it wasn’t until almost 15 years ago that the family decided to make their own wine out of the terrific grapes in their own backyard. They built a state-of-the-art gravity flow winery and set out to make the Maquis winery one of the great properties in all of South America.

Meli Carignan
Chile

This lesser known varietal is planted extensively in southern France. Although it doesn’t usually take a leading role, there’s star power in Meli’s Carignan with just 10% Cabernet Sauvignon blended in for depth and character. Aged in both used oak barrels and stainless steel, this wine is concentrated and unique, with an distinctive balance of earth and fruit. 2,000 cases produced.

Meli is the dream of celebrated winemaker Adriana Cerda and her son Eduardo. Adriana was a respected winemaker for 30 years when she decided it was time to make her own wine.
